FRESNO, Calif. – Reina Zermeno hit her fifth home run of the season, and Aubrie Thomas had a multi-hit performance to lead San José State softball (15-18, 4-5 MW) in an 8-5 loss against Fresno State (23-11, 7-2 MW) in the third and final game of this three-game series from Margie Wright Diamond on Saturday afternoon.
Despite an early lead, the Spartans couldn't hold off a late surge from the Bulldogs. Zermeno and Thomas led the charge for SJSU, going 1-for-4 with a solo home run and 2-for-4 with an RBI single, respectively, while Jules Ronquillo scored two runs to keep the Spartans in the game.
